Dean Samuel was founded in 2017 by Dean Samuel McIlwane, a passionate barber with a vision to raise the standard of men’s grooming. Tragically, Dean passed away before he could see his dream come to life. His cousin, Jordan, stepped forward with a vow to carry Dean’s name and legacy forward, building a barbershop brand that embodied the values Dean held so strongly.
What began as one shop has since grown into three thriving locations across Belfast—Woodford Road, Carnmoney Road, and Antrim Road—along with the launch of the Mentor Barber Academy, a training hub dedicated to teaching the “DS way” to the next generation of barbers.
The brand has become synonymous with quality, precision, and customer care, securing accolades including Glengormley Barbers of the Year, Northern Ireland Barbers of the Year (three times), and Northern Ireland Male Grooming Venue of the Year.
Today, Dean Samuel stands as more than a barbershop—it’s a legacy. A tribute to Dean’s passion, kept alive through excellence in every haircut, every shop, and every barber trained under the name.
